Reproduction A Batteries
The most common type of A batteries is the No.6 cylindrical battery. It is a 1 1/2 volt battery which will normally be wired in series of 3 or 4 to acquire the desired voltage (4.5 or 6 volts). They are 6 1/8 inches long, and 2 1/2 inches in diameter. The tubes I use are made of acrylic, but others have used postal mailing tubes (although the diameter is a little larger - this can be a factor in sets that have close battery quarters).
