As a fan of the Frankenstein movies, I always enjoyed the high voltage theatrics in the lab. After acquiring a neon sign transformer (10000volts at 30ma), I attempted to make a Jacob's Ladder. In Biblical terms, the Jacob's Ladder was a dream of a ladder to Heaven. It's a little finicky to get the distances between the rods so that the arc would begin and continue to repeat.
